The Eternal Spring film and VR experience both picked up nominations at the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards
We have thrilling news to share with you! There’s a new way to experience the world of Eternal Spring with the release of Eternal Spring VR―available today on Meta Quest and coming soon to Steam VR!
Eternal Spring VR is an animated 360 documentary that goes inside the harrowing experiences of a real-life survivor of religious persecution in China, Jin Xuezhe, adding a new dimension to the feature film that was Canada’s official submission to the 2023 Oscars®.
Eternal Spring VR was first presented at a special session during the Available Light Film Festival in Whitehorse in 2023. Today it is widely available on Steam and Meta storefronts! |
This 12-minute interactive documentary combines live-action 360 video and original recorded testimony with animated recreations brought to life from the drawings of acclaimed comic book artist Daxiong (Star Wars, Justice League), who, like Jin, was forced to flee his hometown of Changchun to escape persecution.
Compatible with Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2 and Rift, the interactive VR film features a custom soundscape to trigger haptic sensations delivered through the new Woojer Vest (optional), which heightens the experience as cops arrest you on the street for handing out leaflets, and you get to feel the heart-pounding tension of a police interrogation in China.
